ABOUT THE EVENT

The CrazyGames x GameMaker Web Jam 2025 is a fast-paced game development event focused on creating web-based games using the GameMaker engine. The jam aims to inspire creativity, promote lightweight and instant-play browser experiences, and connect developers with the CrazyGames platform.

These Terms and Conditions outline the rules of participation to ensure a successful, fair, and fun event. Additional information will be shared through our official channels.

GENERAL PROVISIONS

The CrazyGames x GameMaker Web Jam 2025 (“Event” or “Game Jam”) is co-organized by:

  • CrazyGames / MAXFLOW BV, based in Kessel-Lo, Belgium
  • Indie Hero, based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (“Organizers”)

Event Duration and Format

The Event will be conducted online from Thursday, September 18th, to Sunday, September 21st, 2025. All submissions, communication, and judging will take place via designated online platforms. Participants are responsible for ensuring they have stable internet access and the tools required to participate.

Participation

  • Participation is free and open globally, unless restricted by local law.
  • Participants must register and submit a game (“Game”) created during the event.
  • Participants must be 18 or older, or have consent from a legal guardian to be eligible for prizes.
  • Teams must include at least one member aged 18 or older.

Valid Project Requirements

To be considered a Valid Project, a submission must:

  • Comply with these Terms and the provided Jam Guidelines.
  • Be a web-based game developed using the GameMaker engine.
  • Be created entirely during the jam period (September 18-21, 2025).
  • Be submitted to the CrazyGames developer portal by the deadline.
  • Include complete and accurate game submission information on the Indie Hero platform by the deadline.
  • Be appropriate for a PEGI 12+ audience.

     

⚠️ Games using other engines or pre-existing projects will be disqualified.

TERMS AND RULES OF PARTICIPATION

  • Respectful Conduct: All participants must behave respectfully. Discrimination, harassment, or misconduct may result in immediate disqualification.

  • Team Structure: Team formation is open. One member must act as the main point of contact.

  • Legal Compliance: Games must comply with all laws and third-party licensing terms.

  • Use of Assets: Third-party assets are allowed with proper attribution and licensing.

  • Originality: All work must be created during the Event.

  • Malicious Code: Submissions must not contain harmful or invasive code.

  • Technical Issues: Organizers are not responsible for internet outages, platform bugs, or other disruptions.

  • Time Zone: The official time zone is CEST (Central European Summer Time).

  • Submission Deadline: All games must be submitted by 11:59 PM CEST on September 21st, 2025.

 

SELECTION OF FINALISTS / AWARDS

  • Prizes: Cash prizes and GameMaker Professional licenses will be awarded (details in the official jam announcement).

  • Distribution Proposals: Selected submissions may receive a CrazyGames distribution agreement proposal, subject to further evaluation. Final publishing is not guaranteed and may require additional polish or iteration.

  • Judging: Winners will be selected based on creativity, gameplay, polish, and suitability for web publishing.

  • Unclaimed Prizes: Failure to meet eligibility or respond within deadlines may result in forfeiture.

  • Disqualification: Participants who breach these Terms or act in bad faith may be disqualified.

 

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

  • Ownership: Participants retain full intellectual property rights over their submitted Games.

  • Responsibility: Participants are responsible for ensuring all code and assets used are original or properly licensed.

  • Promotional Use: By participating, developers grant the Organizers permission to use submitted game names, visuals (e.g., screenshots, trailers), and descriptions for promotional purposes related to the Game Jam without further compensation.

PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

  • What We Collect: Name, email, age, country, and Discord username.

  • Why We Collect It: To manage participation, communication, and prize distribution.

  • Data Usage: Data is used solely for Event-related operations and is not shared with third parties.

  • Your Rights: Participants may request access, updates, or deletion of their data in line with GDPR or local laws.

  • Security: Reasonable measures will be taken to protect participant data.

 

FINAL PROVISIONS

  • Event Changes: Organizers reserve the right to change, suspend, or cancel the Event in case of unforeseen circumstances.

  • Acceptance: Participation in the Game Jam implies full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

  • Jurisdiction: These Terms are governed by Belgian law, and disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of Belgian courts.
